In King Of The Dot’s “BlackOut2” event, Brooklyn’s PH went in on Canada’s own Aftershock. While Aftershock definitely came hard with his lines, and did a very tremendous job on putting thought into his bars, I feel that this battle had some of the best lines that PH has dropped thus far in his already large battle career. Once again, on KingOfTheDot’s “BlackOut2” event came another very heated and personal battle; this time for the KingOfTheDot Championship. The contender PoRich squared off against champion Sketch Menace in this somewhat questionable outcome. As many spectators would say, (even some judges as well).

Before I go on to discussing the video below, I would like to mention the fact that this KingOfTheDot event entitled “Blackout2” is most definitely packed with the best production and “epicness” I’ve ever seen in a rap battle before. From the dramatic introduction interviews to the appearances from Raekwon The Chef and EpicMealTime’s Sauce Boss, this event is definitely not something you want to let slide without recognition and respect.

Over the past winter break, rap battle leagues took no vacation whatsoever. Leagues like “KingOfTheDot,” “GrindTimeNow,” “DontFlop,” and “Basementality Battles” continued to release top tier matches from headlining events. New battle leagues made their appearances with very impressive matchups as well. In all, there wasn’t really a “winter break” for battling this past year.

I was expecting to open up the KingOfTheDot YouTube page to find the above video uploaded last Monday- its reported date of release. Instead, the video was so long, it took another day and a half for it to drop. Finally on November 15th, it made its way to thousands of computer screens worldwide. But the question is, after waiting all this time for this video to be released, was my battle-hunger fulfilled? Yes. However, this week on my radio show The Slapback, I chose not to do my round of the week on this battle for two reasons. First, the whole video is a little over one hour, so to highlight a clip would seriously bore my listeners (the rounds were set to be 3 minutes, with the last being unlimited time). Second, I felt that this battle had no highlights; instead, it was pure insanity.
